M.Sc. Tech. (Industrial Maths with Computer Application)
The Department has introduced a 3-year M.Sc. Tech. Program in Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications. This program comprises courses in different areas of Mathematics as well as in Computer Applications and Operations Research. The rigorous exposure to Mathematics, Operation Research and Computer Applications are aimed at equipping the students of this program with theories and analytical techniques as well as thorough knowledge and expertise in the use of latest software packages so that they can work competently in diverse areas. Subsequently, the student on successful completion of this course would be able to work in the field of Actuarial Science, Banking, Information Technology, Financial and Market Research Analysis, other public and private sector organizations and in Industrial Research and Development. The main aim of this program is to prepare the students to work competently as a Computer Specialist with Mathematical backbone..
In 2003, the Department of mathematics introduced a three year post-graduate professional course, M. Sc. Tech. (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications), as proposed by the experts in the model curriculum of the University Grant Commission (UGC).
COUSRE STRUCTURE OF M.Sc.Tech (IMCA) :
M. Sc. Tech. Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications is a course, which has been outlined by UGC keeping in mind the need of modern era. In this course the students are given a good quantum of mathematics along with the concept of computer science and applications. We feel that our students will fill the gap felt by computer science and industry.
Industrial Project Studies (Duration–Six months)
Every student of M. Sc. Technology (Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications) has to complete a project of six months duration. This project will reveal the real need of industry and will train the student in solving real problems of industry.
